Painted Simultaneous Color Contrast

These compositions utilize simultaneous color contrast where the gray value appears to shift in tone when next to different colors. The design was created on Photoshop with the initials 'S' and 'F'. The first composition uses brush marks and small ticks to create movement throughout the piece, allowing the viewer's eye to be carried around the composition without being interrupted by the change in painted paper. The second composition has two different paintings glued together. These paintings are virtually the same design with the the colors inverted, but one is flipped on its side. This creates a woven effect that makes it look the papers were meshed together.
